How to Be a Great Leader

Girls can lead and so can you

Your thoughts (66) How to Be a Great Leader

Any plan or project without someone in charge is probably going to fail. The world needs girls like us to take the lead in getting things done. This will lead to a more productive society for everyone.

Being in charge isn’t easy, which is why it’s never too early to start planning. The steps you take today can lead you to a life of leadership.

Here’s a guide to set you on the right path:

Be a Good Listener

When you’re with your family and friends, try not to do all the talking. Listen to them and ask them how they’re doing. If they share a problem with you, do your best to find a solution. You can be a great mentor to people around you by simply listening and giving good advice.

Don’t Take All the Credit

After taking part in any project, don’t be that person who wants to get all the praise. Make sure everyone gets some credit too. Thank them for helping to make the project a success. It’ll show you’re not only responsible, but caring too. The earlier you learn how to be a team player, the greater your chances of being a great leader.

Be Polite

Words hurt. Don’t be rude or mean to people. Even if they’re younger than you. Even if you are arguing, never insult them or make them feel small. Awesome leaders treat people well.

Treat Everyone Equally

Got a favourite sibling? Please don’t treat her or him better than your other siblings. Playing favourites can prevent you from being fair. And the perfect leader treats people equally. Never take sides. Your goal is to make sure everyone feels respected.

Give Support and Praise

Does your brother need help with his homework? Tell him you’ve got his back. Did your friend finally buy that dress after saving up for months? Tell her you’re proud of her. By lifting people up, you become a leader people will love.
