MAKEUP ARTIST NEEDED FOR COMMUNITY PLAY. APPLY NOW!

My stomach dropped as I read the poster. I really wanted to apply, but I was nervous. I loved art, and I’d always been good at painting pictures. But could I apply makeup on a real human being’s face? I didn’t think so.

I was about to leave when my best friend Lola – the lead actress in the play – walked up to me. “What are you daydreaming about, Deborah?” she asked.

“Nothing much,” I said.

“I know that look on your face,” Lola said. “What’s wrong?”

“Em…I was just wondering if I could do the makeup for the play.”

“Of course you can!” Lola said. As if that wasn’t surprising enough, she added that I was the most creative and hardworking person she knew. She said I should visit her the next day and practice with some of the actors. I wasn’t sure about the whole thing. But Lola believed in me so much that I started believing in myself. I agreed to do it.

As I headed to her house, I started wishing I hadn't said yes to the plan. I decided to call it off and apologise to Lola. However, when I arrived the actors were already waiting. They were super warm and welcoming. I didn’t have the heart to back out anymore.

Each actor showed me a picture of the makeup look they wanted. Afterwards, I began to “beat” their faces. Don’t be scared o. In the makeup industry, beating someone’s face means you’re applying makeup perfectly on their face. Not that you’re hitting them or anything like that.

Anyway, that day I turned one of the male actors into a fifty-year-old woman. Then I made Lola look like a Queen. We had mad fun.

When the play director saw my work, she was so impressed that she gave me the job. I was happy ehn. I thanked Lola over and over until she begged me to stop. Truth is, I couldn’t have done it without her.

I did the makeup for the play and got lots of compliments. People started paying me to do their makeup for parties and stuff. Now I’m on my way to becoming a makeup pro. I want to be as successful as top makeup artists like Banke Meshida-Lawal and Tara Fela-Durotoye. And I will keep working hard so I can make it.

am interested in learning how to sew but am just afraid of critics because dey just make me feel like i can't do it .so i just felt discouraged

Hi Ivia,one of d steps to success is failure,do not be discouraged bcus of a temporary breakdown,failure can be tricky sometimes,it comes just a step b4 success.I hope dis advice can help u.

thanks cutie. but am still afraid because d last time i went for a computer training that was my worst learning experience because i was always insulted because i was not a fast learner .they called me words like dwarf,fool or even block head it's been a year now and i have still not gotten over it .what if something similar happens i won't b able to handle my emotion

sorry for dat experience,no one has d right to insult u and call u a slow learner,next time someone insults u like dat try to Keep dem quiet by telling dem u dont like it or dat they have no right to call u names like dat ok.you should try ur best to control ur emotions,i hope dis helps.

You know what it isn't easy to be a teen, parents and elder siblings will tell you that you aren't old enough to do something's and also tell you that you are too old to also do something's. At times parents will say :when I was your age I wasn't doing this things you do but what they forget is we are in the 21st century we teens want to be like Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and so on they should try to advice us not shame and condemn us. U know a child's brain isn't developed until the age of 25, so we teens and young adults tend to take risks but we also learn from it. We don't know what we are even know something's we are doing by this age we regret some of them later in the future, some parents don't even trust their children but they forget that we don't think like them and western civilization has turned the world up, sideways, down. But we should also not forget to learn from ours and other people mistake, we should try to help our parents and make them feel happy. We shouldn't take big risks that might cost us something in future , we should try to think before we leap. Bye and that is the morning tea or coffee. Peace out 💖💗💝💟😉🐇
