Discover the little things you never knew
We girls come in all shades, shapes and sizes. Whether we’re tall, short, dark or fair, we’re all unique in our own way. We’re beautiful inside and out.
But it’s okay to pamper ourselves if we like. There’s nothing wrong with taking care of our bodies. And there are many easy, natural ways to get that glow. Ready to get started? So are we.
After bathing, add a few drops of lemon juice into your cream. Then rub it all over your legs and feet. After 10 minutes, pat your skin dry, and you’re done.
Longing for plump lips? Mix granulated sugar and groundnut/olive oil in a small bowl. Scrub your lips with the mixture and tada! Soft lips like never before. After, apply shea butter all over your lips. Then store the remaining lip scrub in a container.
Dealing with dandruff? We’ve got your back. Pour some baking soda into a bowl of water. Wet your hair and rub the mixture into your scalp. Leave it on for 2 minutes, then rinse off.
Aloe vera gel soothes painful acne and heals scars. It also moisturizes our bodies and helps new skin cells grow. Ask for an aloe vera plant (Yoruba name - Alon Erin/Eti Erin, Igbo name - Ibube Agu, Hausa name - Tinya/Rodon Daji) around your neighbourhood. Remove the gel from the leaf. Apply it on your face and let it dry for 30 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water.
There you go! You can get these ingredients at home, in your neighbourhood store, or in your local market. Here’s to looking and feeling better than ever.
