Who says you can’t laugh at your most embarrassing moments?
Having a period is normal, but sometimes it can come unannounced. Now that can be embarrassing!
We’ve all had moments we wished the ground would open up to swallow us. Here are some funny stories of girls just like you whose period showed up on the “wrong day”.
My most embarrassing period experience would be the first time I saw my period. It was at a party at my auntie’s house. In the middle of playing and eating I notice I was not feeling too right so I go to the bathroom. I realised my period had come. I tiptoe to my sister who tells me to go tell my mum. As I whisper to her, one of my aunties who noticed my sudden quietness called out to my mum from the other end of the room “Is she ok?”. My mum, nonchalantly shouted to the full hearing of my extended family, “she’s fine, She’s just started her period!”. I was mortified! – Toyin
I went to the market to buy shoes. As soon as I walked out of the shoe shop, a young guy started calling me. I thought he wanted to toast me so I ignored him. He kept calling me. Then he shouted ” I dey call you and you dey form for me abi, see as you dey, you don stain ooh” . I prayed the ground would swallow me. People around just stared at me.– Oluchi
One of my funny moments was I had used tissue to catch my blood and it fell off. It took me some time before I noticed it. I was looking for it when I saw my neighbour picking it to stone his child not knowing what it was because it was night already. Then I cautiously picked it and ran straight to the toilet to dispose it.- Gracious

Wen my period started for d first time,I was at sleep den waking up in d morning to see myself full of blood my bed is too wept......I didn't know d meaning of period den bcus I wasn't taught early..... I started crying thinking DAT I was going to die......I lock d door so DAT nobody will come in.....I cryed for hours before my aunty open d door wit her key den explained it to me....I JUST LAUGH NOW ANYTIME I THINK ABOUT IT

Mine also happne in the night so i wake my mum and the my sister borrowed me her pad and i was happy
One crazy moment, will be when am in ss1.. My class boys saw it and also discovered a pad in my bag. I was like "Oh Father, take me now" ☺☺

my crazy period was when I went to my Great grandmother's burial. I notice there something awkward about me but I ignored it. Anytime I go to toilet for a bath, i saw blood on my pant and I thought it was mud and I would ask myself "who put mud in my pant?". Until one day while I was sleeping, I was stained. All my pyjamas was sucked with blood. Everyone was teasing me even my elder sisters

Lol ..I got stained in class I was feeling uneasy at first then I told my friend to help me check when she said I was but it wasn't that bad ..I was like father lord take my soul now...I could not stand up coz there were boys there I just sat down i had stopped bleeding at that period when we were done I had to wear a lab coat to cover myself ...one of my classmate (male) he walked up to me and he was like trying to start a conversation I ended it quickly ..I was having cramps at that moment I got angry and left ...my friend was just laughing at me ...lol that day was so funny I had to wear the lab coat and people were giving me strange looks ..

Mine was the last day of exam in junior school we were celebrating cause we were leaving junior school,it was the last day of my period so I forgot instructions to stay away from sugar,so I had lots of chocolates then the unwanted happened, I had to leave the school early cause basically everyone saw the stain it was as big as Nigeria map,worse is that I had to climb a bike home n drop in a very busy area, all the ladies saw me n started whispering to themselves for a while I tried all my best to stay away from our street it was sooooooo embarrassing

My funny period moment was at my uncle's house I was in the kitchen with my mom and aunt so I started feeling uncomfortable and I decided to go to the toilet as I bent down I saw blood and I shouted but nobody could hear I went straight to the kitchen and met my mom and aunt there and they asked me what's wrong and why am I crying I said I saw something on my pant and my aunt was now like how is it, is it red,are u feeling pains and before I could say anything she just shouted so u are now a lady.i just couldn't say anything.Anne

I was in a convention and I was not myself so I was walking like a dead person when a guy stopped me and said hay babe I think u have got a stain on ur cloth (and I was putting on white)I looked at it and smiled shyly and said noo its a design and he said OK so I went to the bathroom and I started to cry that I have got an injury inside me and I was thinking of an explanation to give to mg mum when my mum came I was very shy cause I have wore all my cloth and it staind it all bit I swallowed my shyness and told her she laughed until I started crying and she explained it to me

Hey 6524! In calculating your period/menstrual circle, note that the first day of your period is also the first day of your menstrual circle and the last day of your period is not the last day of your circle but the last day of your period. The duration/flow depends on individual. The last day of your cycle is day before your next period starts. For example, if your period started on the 1st of April and your next period starts on the 3rd of May, your cycle will be 2nd of May. This means that your cycle lasts for 31 days. Your new cycle starts again from the 1st day of your next period. Please note that your period can be delayed at sometimes and can also come earlier than normal. We hope this helps.
When i had my first period i was in primary school then,our teacher asked a question nd i stood up to ansa it but immediately i stood up my seat mate shouted saying dat i av been injured by a nail....wen my teacher saw it she jxt started laughing nd took mhe to the toilet to wash maiself...

Hey Blessing! Thanks for opening up to ask this question. There are various reasons for irregular periods as it is called. We suggest you try eating healthy (more fruits and vegetables). Cut down the sweets, biscuits, soft drinks and other types of junk. Sometimes, what you eat affects things like your menstrual cycle. Also, please talk to a trusted adult around you and if possible, see a doctor. We hope this helps
AS GIRLS WE ARE ADVICED TO USE GOOD PADS AND WE SHOULD BE CONSIOUS OF MENSTRATION IN ANY WHERE WE FIND OURSELVES AS FROM 12YEARS AND ABOVE.

I was actually at skul wen i saw my period u had no idea,until m frnd told me dat dere was blood on my skirt.One of d most funny and d most annoying day of my period was on april 1 my classmate(a guy) told me dat dere is blood on my skirt den i was like telling him to help me to look for a cardigan den he said aprilfull i was so angry to d extent dat i almost gave him a dirty slap.

I've also had something like Gracious' situation. But it happened in the girls' toilet at school and two of my best friends were present. I was so embarrassed. I got into one of the stalls and I debated coming out or not. I'm pretty sure they saw it when it fell. But they acted like nothing happened. I was really grateful for that. :)
