We have all heard of wooden and glass jewelry boxes. These can be quite nice but they are not easy to make.

So what do you think if we tell you that you can make a fancy jewelry box in less than an hour. And it will be simply made of paper and Ankara material.

What you will need -

• Ankara fabric (or any old fabric)
• Gum or glue
• An old tissue/serviette box
• A pair of scissors

Step 1

Cut off the top of the tissue box to get the look below

Step 2

Open up the fabric and place the tissue box on it. Note that the tissue box should be placed on the inner side (wrong side) of the fabric. Remember to trim off any rough ends. You should have a perfect square big enough to cover the tissue box after the trim.

Step 3

Using the box as a guide, cut into the fabric at every edge. This will make it easy to fold the fabric onto the box.

Step 4

Apply gum to the outer and inner sides of the tissue box. Do this for one side at a time. Fold the fabric so that each side of the box is covered. Be sure to carefully smooth the fabric over the gum so that it sticks to the box. It is okay to have fabric inside the box but try to make it look neat.

Step 5

Repeat this step until all parts are covered in fabric

Note: Once done, allow to dry properly.

And voila! Your jewelry/all-purpose Ankara storage box is ready for use.
