All about mentors
It can be nice to have someone to talk to when you’ve got questions and concerns. Or when things get a little tough. That’s why having a big sister or relative to advise you can be helpful. And if you don’t have a big sister, a mentor can support and guide you.
In case you’re wondering, a mentor is a trusted, experienced person who guides you and helps you achieve your goals. You can talk to your mentor about anything. Boys, family, your dreams, whatever.
Mentors are good listeners. They help you make good decisions and find great opportunities. You don’t have to tell your mentor everything. But if you decide to open up to them, they’ll be happy and willing to help.
Funnily enough, young people aren’t the only ones who have mentors. Adults have mentors too. It doesn’t have to be someone who is well-known or far away. It can just be a kind, easygoing, responsible person around you.
If you’d like someone to mentor you, try not to approach them from out of the blue. Instead, start by learning more about them from somebody else who knows them very well. That way, you’ll avoid sharing personal stuff with someone who shouldn’t be trusted. Wondering how to go about it? We’ve got you! Read this Springster story.
