Discover a new you!

For your best year yet

Discover a new you!

Is there something you would really love to achieve this year? Whether you want to get better at public speaking, make a new friend, try a new sport or start your own business – it’s all possible. Starting something new can feel a little scary, but here are some tips on how to get to the finish line of your dreams.

Start with baby steps

If your dream is to be an astronaut - your first step will not be to shoot into space. It might be taking a science class. To achieve your dream start by writing down steps you can take to get started today. Remember, change takes time. Dreams do not come true overnight. It is one-step at a time. As you take these steps, do not forget to celebrate your wins along the way.

Leave your comfort zone

Your comfort zone is where you feel comfortable and safe. However, it’s hard for you to grow if you never step outside it. We know leaving our comfort zone can feel a bit scary. Your mind might rush with thoughts like ‘what if I fail?’ ‘what if I look or sound stupid?’. Well, you might never be able to know what you can achieve if you don’t try. So next time you have these thoughts, just say to yourself ‘I’ve got this, I can do this’.

Seek support

Learning from people you admire and are experienced is the best way to grow. Reach out to people you can learn from and let them know how much you respect what they do. Most people will be happy to teach you what they know.

Accept a stumble or two

In the journey to success, we sometimes stumble. Maybe you try out for a new sports team and don’t make it the first time - that’s fine. Every stumble just means you have more time to learn from the mistakes. Even the most successful people had to get through some obstacles to be where they are. The most important thing you can do is to not give up. You will get there!
