When you love what you do, doing it is fun and easy
One way to be truly happy in your work is to find out what you love to do the most in the world. Then make that your job.
Everyone thought Binta should become a nurse, doctor or government worker. She had other plans. What she really loved to do was fix gadgets around the house. She told her family she wanted to become an apprentice to an electrician. They were surprised and disappointed. Binta insisted and was able to convince her family and now she is the first female electrician in her community.
Her business is doing well. She makes enough money to take care of her family. She also trains other young women to become electricians.
Binta says, “When I decided to become an electrician, I didn’t know if I would succeed or fail. I just knew that I would regret it if I didn’t try. It was the best decision I ever made because now I get to spend every day doing what I love."
Do you love taking pictures? Are you artistic? Do your friends and family ask you to help them with a particular thing because you’re so good at it? Great, because you might have found your future career!
Making a living from the things you already love can be simple. You don’t always need a lot of money to get started. You can start at home. So you don’t need a fancy office or work space. Get your friends and family involved in your projects, too!
You’re young, so you still have a lot of time to find your passion. Don’t worry if you’re not sure yet. Use this time to explore lots of options. When you find what you love, you’ll know.

If you read more of academic books, you can actually share your knowledge by tutoring your classmates or your juniors. This can give you some cash. I love writing a lot and it's my reflection and me the real me I always wanted to read creative writing and law but the problem is I've got that love and passion for writing and my parents think law is better and of course they are the ones training me I've even tried applying for scholarships but that didn't help either and now I can't help but think that maybe creative writing is not just for me and I think I seriously need help

You can be a lawyer that like to write as a hobby. Remember the story "How to turn your past time to profit"? It talks about how you can make money from your hobby. If you love to write and you flow every time you start to write, then creative writing is for you. Just remember that in as much as so many people can write (literally), not everyone can be a creative writer. We hope this helps.

Hey Donie! That is a good one. There are so many ways to make money from this hobby. You can be an instrumentalist for a band or even play these local Nigerian instruments at weddings and at parties and get paid for it. You can also teach other people and get paid for it. These are just a few options of how you can make money out of this hobby.

Hey Oyinkan! Do you have reasons for wanting to become a doctor? Try to think of these reasons and explain these reasons clearly to your mother. Perhaps she cannot see how passionate you are about your dreams. She may also be worried about the costs and length of time it takes to become a doctor, so you will need to do really well in school now to show her you can succeed with medicine and that you can try to get scholarships and other financial help. Hey Neddie! Thanks for this question. The truth is that whether you are in the urban area or rural area, once you have a hobby and you are passionate about it, then you can be the best. The problem most people have (and this is for everyone) is that they always give excuses. If Binta was in a rural area, she would have still being the best female electrician. Why? Because she was determined to be one. So, always be passionate about what you love to do. Even if it is a menial job, as long as you are determined to be the best, you will be. We hope this helps.

What you should be more concerned about is trying to convince your mum to support you. Your mum probably is not in support because she also feels you need connections. I always repire my spoilt phone's and watched how the phone repirer those it.. Nw i can do alot of things on phone's.. And i remember drawing in my primary school with friends.. We drow it like comics! like a villian and a hero ..nd nw am good at drawing, my junior once's calls me to draw for them whenever they were given an assignment to draw.. And when interviewing a sketch artist on tv! My dad calls me to come see the drawings.. He asks me if i can draw it.

I love talking, acting nd dancing but I dont know if it can actually b my future.. my parents wants me to become a medical doctor.. so I'm a science student but deep down I jst know I can't cope with any of that.. I think it's too late now.. I took jamb already.. but thinking of it, my jamb result is out and jat like God isn't in support with what my parents are asking of me, I didn't get cut off mark for medicine but I got d cut off Mark for theatre art and mass comm..

I love everything about fashion design and acting but my parents want me to go to school and study something else . They say that I could become a fashion designer by going to learn the skills but I should go to school and study something else .what I am thinking about studying is Gynecology but I just feel that the both do not fit.

I love acting and even I tried to make some couples of short comedy skits with my phone and people do appreciate it. So am thinking of joining theatre groups I mean I wanna become a Nollywood Actor. But I don't know if that is career....should I continue with the process...?

Hey Amie! Thanks for the comment. The good thing is that you now have interest in drawing. You can start by drawing randomly when you are bored or less busy. You can carry a small jotter around and draw things you have interest in or things around you. It's a good skill and we are happy your mum is now encouraging you. We hope this helps

Hey Akuudo! Thanks for the comment. We love the fact that you know what you like and you are willing to start working on it. For writing, you need to know what it is that you are good at writing. Is it stories? Poetry? Drama? etc. You need to first figure this out and then improve your skill before you start thinking of making money. Once you have that figured out, you can choose to start blogging or writing content for people or brands. But like we said, the first thing you need to do is to know what it is you are writing and practise until you are perfect at it. No one can resist a good write up. You will need a publisher. You can either ask around for a good publisher or Google it. Hey Marvel_wonder! Thanks for the comment. The first step is to find out what you love doing because if you do not know this, you will not be able to figure things out. You have to be good at chemistry to be a medical doctor. Search within yourself and find out what it is that you like and develop it.
