Here’s how to cope
Sometimes we can feel like we are not a part of a group or an event. No friends to gist with. No family to hang out with.
There are other times when we have people around us but still feel lonely.
We feel like the people around us don’t understand us.
We start to avoid people. We end up feeling alone
And we know no one wants to feel alone
Wondering how to overcome the feeling of being lonely? Here are some tips:
Gather friends and loving people around you
Have people in your life that you can talk to about anything. It will help you learn to cope with loneliness. Make good friends. You can make friends in your place of worship, in your support group or even ask a trusted adult to introduce to someone your age. You can also read our article on how to make friends
Find or join a group in your community
It can be a choir, dance group or even sports team. Maybe you like sports, you can visit the nearest sports centre. Spending time playing your favourite sports will lift up your mood. Or maybe you like to dance you can join a dance group. You can even join an online community like Springster on facebook. Joining a group will also make it possible for you to meet new people.
Learn something new and cool
It can be how to play the flute, drum, dance, sing, bake, etc. This can become your new hobby. It will keep you busy and help you spend your time fruitfully.

The same too with me , the friend that I have that don't gossip is just one at school. All others and the ones in my neighbourhood, gossip with my name, they even told the woman that I asked to teach me bead making that I steal because I refused to let them into my house when my parents weren't at home(because they told me not to). I always feel lonely the only place where I have comfort and happiness is here.I am proud to be a springster, Misty is it because of these that u asked for a friend

This can be in your neighbourhood, school or place of worship. In as much as we advise you all to make friends here, it is always better to have friends in the real world for days when there is no internet connection. I had some friends bt my parent does nt allow me be wit them, am alwayz at shop all day. even at xmas, sala, newyr,etc. dey don't allow me visit my cousin, uncles, sisters,........ am just lonely all days. (just thinking of runing away).

Hey enyola! Thanks for the comment. The truth is that running away is not an option at all. It will only make things worse. We understand how you feel and we get that it can really be sad and lonely. What you need to do is to try to talk to your parents. If they do not listen, you can suggest inviting your friends over instead. That's simple and we are sure that one of them will work. Seriously when people talk about being lonely i be like oh what's loneliness! Because i've been staying all alone for the past six years and i have no friend, my movement is just from work to the place i stay and once i get in i don't go nowhere till the next day, i hate partying, i hate noice. I'm a polite someone and don't just walk pass without saying hi to my neighbours. Why am i like that? I'm different from everyone but i think i need a friend now. For instance, a chubby girl will not be considered busty even if she has the same cup size with a slim girl. This is because she is not as slim as the chubby girl and the breast will not be as visible as a slimmer girl. If you keep giving them times to chat and play about, it may seem like you are strict and giving them rules. There are so many ways to go about this. Even been lonley a times is good. It makes you think well, straight and logical. Although, one have to have some friends whom one can confide in and also who will see the best and want the best for the person. The ever and best advice is to support oneself with what I call the (GQ friends) ie the Godly and Quality Friends. If you are good_you will see and have friends and if it's otherwise_friends of those categories will also be available

First of all, you need to know that this is your body and we do not always get what we want but what you need to do is to learn to appreciate your body and love it the way it is. The truth is that if you do not love your body, you will keep seeing fault in it. It is a good thing that you have tried to lose weight and also seen yourself with weight and so you know it is something you cannot control.
